Services / Panels & Breakers

The heart of your electrical system, done right.

Panel installation and upgrades, subpanels, breakers and surge protection for homes and businesses, plus reviews that show where you stand on code.

When you need it

Signs it's time to call

Not enough capacity

Adding an EV charger, heat pump, addition or new equipment can push an older panel or service past its limit.

Breakers that trip or won't hold

Worn or undersized breakers and overloaded circuits need diagnosing, not just swapping.

An outdated panel

Older panels and breakers can have known reliability problems. An electrician can tell you whether yours should be replaced.

Sensitive equipment

Electronics, HVAC and servers are worth protecting from surges.

FAQ

Panels & Breakers questions

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. A load calculation shows whether your existing panel and service can carry it, and load management can avoid an upgrade in some cases. Try our EV planner for a first look.

What is a subpanel?

A smaller panel fed from the main panel. It adds circuits in a garage, addition, workshop or tenant space without replacing the main panel.

How long does a panel upgrade take?

A straightforward replacement can often be completed in a day, with power off for part of it. Service upgrades that involve the utility take longer. We will estimate it before we start.

Is surge protection worth it?

It helps protect electronics and equipment from many surges, though no device stops every surge, such as a direct lightning strike. It is most valuable for sensitive or expensive equipment.

Do you do electrical inspections?

We provide electrical safety and code-compliance reviews for owners, buyers and property managers, with a written list of findings. These do not replace official inspections.
